Hello Group!

As Kermit used to sing, "It's not easy being green," but let's give it a GO!

We're going to need your help and cooperation. Let's try to have proper use of blue bin and green bin recycling.  Did you know that even rinsed out milk bags are blue bin recyclable?  Paper towels in the volunteer washrooms are green bin, food waste is too. We'll try to make it easier by having strategically placed containers ready for your contribution.

Monday's group at JSB has already joined the bandwagon and have noticed a remarkable reduction of their environmental footprint. The church's garbage bin is half filled with what it used to be.
Starting last year, the morning cooking crew has been bagging all of the vegetable and fruit scraps along with egg shells used in our program for my composters at home.  The fabulous finished "black gold" which it produced was spread over my garden many times and I thank them for it!  (I'm willing to share the scraps if anyone wants to take them home Tuesday nights for their own composters.)
So, let's work together..... share your suggestions with me and each other.... ask questions if you're not sure where something should be put.

Let's challenge ourselves to, not only improve the lives of those we serve now, but also to better the lives of those who will come after us!

See you tomorrow,

Cindy
